Fire Chief  William "Bill" Colley

He was actively involved in the Deanville Volunteer Fire Department for over 43 years. He served the department as Assistant Fire Chief for 10 years and Fire Chief for the last 17. Bill was also the fire department’s mechanic, keeping the firefighting apparatuses ready for service. He even had a hand in building several of the trucks from the ground up. He helped build and complete the buildings that make up the current DVFD complex. Bill was an integral part of making every fundraiser that the department had over the years a success. He built some of the first fryers used to make the delicious Deanville fried chicken. 

Bill passed away peacefully in a Bryan hospital on April, 29, 2023 at the age of 69.

Garnett Gregory Gerdes

He was the Deanville Volunteer Fire Department Training Instructor since it's inception.  He attended the Hazardous Materials Division of fire school.  He wanted to be sure no one would make a careless error thereby causing a fatality.  Garnett also served as the first official Secretary.

Garnett passed away peacefully at his residence July 2, 2022 with his family by his side at the age of 87.

President R.J. Smith 

He was an active member of the Deanville Volunteer Fire Department since its inception in 1979.  He served as the fire department president for 37 years, leading many successful fundraisers and expansion of the fire department facilities and equipment to better serve the fire fighting needs of western Burleson County.  He retired from the board in December 2021.

RJ passed away peacefully in his home January 15, 2022 at the age of 77.
